Le Panoramic
Le Panoramic restaurant in Tignes is a must-visit for skiers seeking a dining experience with views that make your jaw drop. Nestled at 3,032 meters on the Grande Motte Glacier, it boasts breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding peaks and the pristine alpine landscape, making it a perfect spot to relax and refuel during your ski day. Accessible via the Grande Motte funicular, its convenient location makes it an excellent stop for skiers of all levels. With big wide open runs that lead back, you can indulge in a longer lunch or take something a little lighter and head up directly to the peak on the cable car right next to the restaurant.
With both a sit-down indoor restaurant and canteen-style options, you have a choice of whether to indulge in some high-altitude luxury or grab a burger, with main courses in the restaurant typically ranging from €30 to €60 (though the quality and ambience justify the splurge) through to €16 for a burger, there is a good range to fit your budget for the day.
The menu combines traditional Savoyard specialties with refined French cuisine, offering dishes like fondue, raclette and tartiflette, alongside delicacies such as foie gras and fresh seafood. The use of locally-sourced ingredients enhances the authenticity and flavour of each dish. A range of wines and desserts, including homemade pastries, further elevates the experience.

Les Marmottes
Les Marmottes in Val d’Isère is a charming on-mountain canteen style offering with a delightful mix of traditional alpine ambience, hearty cuisine, and stunning views. Situated conveniently near the Daille gondola mid-station, it’s easy to access, whether you’re taking a break from exploring the extensive Espace Killy ski area or finishing up a morning of runs.
The menu showcases a variety of comforting Savoyard dishes, including fondue, tartiflette, and crozets, alongside French favourites like steak frites and roasted chicken. For lighter options, they offer soups, salads, and quiches. Desserts such as tarte aux myrtilles (blueberry tart) and homemade ice cream provide a sweet finale. Prices are reasonable for the area, averaging between €20 and €35, balancing quality and value.
The sunny terrace offers breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks and the slopes below, where the Ski Miquel concierge will reserve you a table, such a great spot for a bite to eat on a bluebird day. Indoors, the simple chalet style fits with the canteen approach and you can be sure of friendly service.
L’Empreinte Avaline
Sophisticated yet relaxed dining experience in the heart of the Alps, located handily just off the 'Genepy' slope (green run) near the 'Borsat' and 'Marmottes' chairlifts, making it easily accessible for all levels of skier and snowboarder.
The menu is a celebration of local Savoyard flavours with a modern twist. Expect expertly prepared dishes such as venison stew, roasted lamb and fresh trout, alongside indulgent Alpine classics like raclette and fondue. Vegetarian options and creative desserts, such as their signature chocolate creations, ensure there’s something for everyone. Prices are mid-to-high range (€25 to €45), so this might be one for the staff day off, and take your time to enjoy the quality of the ingredients and presentation.
If you want to grab and go then the snack bar is for you, with freshly cooked pizzas, soup or burgers ranging from €6 up to €22 for a fully loaded pizza.

Bollin
A convenient and welcoming spot with more of a party atmosphere, particularly towards the end of the season, when the terrace gets more sun at the end of the day. Skiers and snowboarders can grab a bite without straying far from the main lifts, and it's easy to get to for non-skiers. Situated near the Bollin-Fresse chairlift in Tignes Val Claret, its prime slope-side location makes it a favourite for a quick refuel or a more relaxed meal with friends and family.
The menu is tailored to skiers, offering a mix of hearty French mountain cuisine and casual favourites. You’ll find dishes like tartiflette, burgers and pasta, alongside soups and salads for lighter appetites. The snack menu features sandwiches, crêpes and hot drinks, perfect for that quick stop. Prices are skier-friendly, with mains typically ranging from €15 to €30, making it accessible for most budgets, as well as offering Poke bowls for those looking to ease off on the cheese for a day!
The terrace offers fantastic views of the east slopes of Tignes, with a lively atmosphere driven by the DJ in the gondola bubble and the Aperol Spritz van.
Indoors, the restaurant offers a more refined menu (€31 to €42) with a classic chalet-style look and warmth for colder days, where you can enjoy the Italian creations and French classics like escargots and fondue, or larger plates to share among the crew.
Le Planté de Bâton
In the heart of Tignes Val Caret sits one the best crêpe and pancake restaurants in the Alps. At the base of the TSD du Dollin sits a collection of restaurants forming the upper section of the village in Tignes Val Caret. There is plenty of choice to eat here, with 6 places in total, but we woudl recommend Le Planté de Bâton.
Their pancakes are a standout treat, perfect for skiers and snowboarders, and not just for those with a sweet tooth. A great range of savoury (buckwheat) pancakes means you can have them for both main and dessert! Nice touches (like the cheese coming directly from the Ferme des 3 Capucines right next door) really make the difference. Checkout their menu for more details. Prices range from €10 to €30 giving you the chance to have a more interesting crêpe for your money.
It's also a great place to meet up with other skiers and snowboardesr due to its location and quick access back up the to glacier after lunch if you fancy a big run down to work off your lunch. You can also catch the bus up from Tignes Le Lac for non-skiers as well, so it's good for meeting friends or family.
